Pitbull on Crack is Asheville Coffee Roasters’ signature French roast. You might say it’s French roast with an attitude.

This does not imply that our coffee has a bite. Our Pitbull is quite charming and has quickly become a favorite of young and old alike and is welcome anywhere real coffee is enjoyed.

We hand-roast our coffee daily in small batches in the heart of a city long known as the “Paris of the South” which, among other things, makes us an authority on all things French
(particularly roasts)!

In fact, you might be surprised to learn that French roast isn’t a bean; it’s a special high-temperature roasting process that produces a dark, rich oily bean that brings out the sweet flavor of quality beans but makes inferior beans bitter.

Our Pitbull on Crack is a double-roasted, two “crack” shade-grown exotic blend of the highest grade, hand-picked and screened by certified organic, fair-trade growers who cup each batch to ensure quality.

But all you really need to know is that our Pitbull on Crack produces the best cup of coffee on any coast (including those topless French ones).

Sumatran Mandheling

This favorite coffee from Indonesia's largest island, Sumatra, has magnificent full body, almost syrupy richness and smooth complex flavor. The herbal, spicy flavors will linger on your tongue while the earthy, rich aroma fills the air.

While most coffees are named after the country, or growing region, where it is farmed and harvested, Mandheling coffee is named after the Mandheling People that traditionally farmed and processed the coffee beans.

Sumatra Mandheling is dark roasted and shipped the same day for superior flavor and freshness. Your fresh roasted coffee is immediately sealed in a foil valve bag.

Monsoon Malibar

Monsoon Malibar beans are exposed to the monsoon winds for a period of about three to four months, causing the beans to swell and lose the original acidity, resulting in a sweet and syrupy brew. The coffee is unique to the Malabar coast of Karnataka and Kerala.

The blend is heavy bodied, pungent and of monotone quality and is considered to be dry with a chocolatey aroma and a slightly sharp taste.

You will see the difference when you press Monsoon Malibar through your espresso machine, the rich crema often has more volume and froth. And the taste won't let you down!

Birds of Paradise

This smooth medium-roasted bean from the Caribbean has a similar taste and body to that of the Jamacan Blue coffee bean, but is much more affordable.

When you are looking for a mellow coffee that still has a bit of personality, Birds of Paradise is a sure thing.

The bean presses well in traditional espresso machines, flows beautifully through your coffee pot and works well with French presses.

Dirty Nekkid Man

Andi has her hands all over these beans... But Greg deserves the credit for the name. This bean has a substantial body, rich acidity and a low-toned complex flavor.

Don't let the name fool you... this is a great cup of coffee!

Not to mention the thrill you will get when you see the look on the face of your guest as you answer their question: "This is a wonderful cup of coffee, what kind is it?"
